Aims and activities
Teaching Staff Trust (TST) provides hardship grants to people working in the education sector. The demand for funding has recently exploded, and we are looking to collaborate with other funders to help meet more of this demand.
We would like to collaborate on being able to fund more individuals working in schools and nurseries, as well as measuring key issues facing our educators and sharing learning and data with other funders in this space. This includes looking at the wider issue of why so many school staff are leaving the profession and what meaningful support needs to be put into place.
TST has always worked in collaboration as part of a wider ecosystem of support and providing evidence/data to help improve the experience and effectiveness of working in the education system, as well as being able to do our part in helping people directly.
TST can continue to cover all the admin costs of grant-making, and has a robust checking process.

TST works with Lightning Reach (as an original pilot member), schools across the country, women's refuges, welfare officers of charities, advice agencies (such as debt management), and unions. We have an established network of referrers, who ensure we reach the people that need our help.
