Aims and activities
We’re a collective on a mission to drive inclusive social investment in the UK, through the convening of sector-wide groups, commissioning research, and knowledge sharing.
Our Steering Group meets 4 to 6 times a year and aims to provide leadership to the social investment sector on issues of diversity and inclusion, to enable:
- Social investors to make good and better investment decisions
- Sector employers to offer an inclusive workplace and better represent the people we fund, and
- An increase in the level of investment going to a greater diversity of groups.
How to get involved
Sign our Manifesto. Our Manifesto offers a way for organisations to work transparently and collaboratively on shared goals and aims, to be held accountable and to access support with addressing equity, equality, diversity and inclusion. Although primarily aimed at the social investment sector, we are open to working with grant-making and other funding organisations who may find our Manifesto useful in achieving their diversity and inclusion goals.
Join our Diversity Champions network. Our network is open to all individuals working towards equity, diversity and inclusion in the social investment sector. This peer-support network has been instrumental in sharing resources, ideas and opportunities for collaboration on the journey for diversity and inclusion. Our Diversity Champions also play a crucial role in collecting and sharing data relating to diversity and shaping our work as the Diversity Forum.
If you would like to find out more about getting involved in the Diversity Forum, please get in touch.

Learning and Resources
Diversity Data Report & Framework — The Diversity Data Project Report explores the multifaceted landscape of diversity data collection among social enterprises and social investors. Through listening exercises, co-creation sessions, and extensive research, the project identifies key challenges and proposes a 14-step framework to improve diversity data practices. This framework, intended for self-assessment and quality assurance, offers guidelines at sectoral, organisational, and individual levels to ensure data collection is user-centred, inclusive and purposeful. The report emphasises the importance of cross-sector collaboration and ongoing development to achieve meaningful progress in equity, diversity, and inclusion within the social sector.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Toolkit — Our EDI toolkit helps Social Investment Teams level up their equity, diversity and inclusion. First by highlighting EDI actions taken by your organisation, then by helping you choose and prioritise actionable improvements to demonstrate your ongoing commitment to EDI.
Inclusive Impact - a review of diversity in the social impact sector, accompanied by a toolkit providing practical guidance to make the sector more inclusive.
