Aims and activities
Newham Council are working with London Funders to explore how we can support greater funder collaboration and activity in Newham.
Over the past year, we have seen new investment in Newham’s civil society, but also growing inequality and pressure on local services as a result of the pandemic.
The Newham Funders' Forum has been set up to provide an opportunity for funders active in Newham to come together to hear more about funding in the borough, share insights, and discuss how we might be able to support greater collaboration in the future.
It also forms part of the development of the Council's wider ‘We Are Newham’ ambitions, centred on how we can work better together as partners across the borough on strategic priorities. Funding is a major area we want to focus on as part of that.
The Forum currently involves between 15 and 20 funders (local, national and regional) investing in the borough, who meet quarterly.
How to get involved
Any funders interested in getting involved in the Forum can contact either Helen Mathie at London Funders or Noel Hatch at Newham Council.
Funders can also join the Newham Funders shared workspace on Slack, to keep in touch with other members and receive relevant news.
