Aims and activities
Beacon’s aims:
- To increase philanthropy and impact investment in the UK by encouraging and supporting socially-conscious wealth holders to give more of their private assets for public good.
- To show wealth holders they can do more as individuals and collectively with their peers.
- To work with influential sector organisations and government representatives to foster a greater culture of giving and philanthropy in the UK.
Beacon is delivering these aims via three areas of strategy:
- Celebration - We promote the voice and visibility of philanthropy and social investment by bringing forward the perspectives, stories and insights of real philanthropists and role models.
- Collaboration - We work with partner organisations, the philanthropy ecosystem and government to produce or pool best practice and insight so we can support and mobilise UK wealth holders. We focus on representing the voices of philanthropists and wealth holders.
- Connection - We support wealth holders with signposts, peer learning and mentorship via networks and events online and offline. We aim to give confidence and direction to philanthropists wishing to make giving and impact investing part of their life.
