Aims and activities
Yorkshire Funders provides opportunities for local funding organisations of all sizes and sectors to think, share, learn and act together in order to be more effective and boost their impact on Yorkshire places and people.
Originally established 30 years ago as the Yorkshire Grant Makers’ Forum, Yorkshire Funders achieved charitable status in November 2021 so that it could increase its activities and outcomes.
Its principal activities are facilitating and organising networking and learning events in the Yorkshire region and ensuring that the region has a strong relationship with national funders, key national sector bodies and local infrastructure organisations which provide advice and support to charities, voluntary and community groups.
Yorkshire Funders is very welcoming to new members and attendees at our online and in-person events, whether you are a Yorkshire-based funder or a national funder seeking local insight
How to get involved
Yorkshire Funders have launched an official membership scheme, starting on 1st April 2023. If you would like to become a member and support Yorkshire Funders’ work, please contact Carla Marshall, Co-ordinator.

Learning and Resources
Yorkshire Common Application Form
As part of its focus on tackling common funder issues for local grant-seekers, Yorkshire Funders has developed the Yorkshire Common Application Form (YCAF). This initiative aims to make the application process easier and faster, by encouraging local funders of all sizes and types to adopt the YCAF, so that over time grant-seekers will find that they are being asked exactly the same questions, in the same format by more and more Yorkshire funders.
Yorkshire & Humber Funding ecology research
In 2021, Yorkshire Funders Forum, together with the National Lottery Community Fund, Two Ridings Community Foundation and Leeds Community Foundation, commissioned new research on the Yorkshire & Humber voluntary sector funding ecology. The full report can be found here and an interactive dashboard allows you to explore who gives grants, where and to whom.
