For the fourth Greater Manchester Funders Forum open event, we are excited to welcome LocalMotion who will be speaking about their ambition for local change.

The event will cover the approach and model used by LocalMotion to create real change. We will consider the successes and challenges of a place-based approach and what funders can do to support collaboration and systems change in places, and at more strategic levels of decision-making.

LocalMotion is a collaboration of six funders - Lloyds Bank Foundation, Esmee Fairbairn Foundation, Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Lankelly Chase Foundation, Tudor Trust, and City Bridge Trust - who are playing their part in facilitating systemic, positive change in six locations facing economic, environmental or social challenges.

They are working in six local communities across the country, including Oldham in Greater Manchester, to find collective solutions to local social, environmental, and economic challenges through cross-sector collaboration with the community, civil society, public bodies, businesses and funders, maximising the ‘power of place’.

About our speakers:

Kathleen Kelly, Director of Collaboration, LocalMotion. Kathleen previously led the development of the National Lottery Community Fund’s partnership funding approach, establishing strategic partnerships across the charitable, public, private and funder sectors. More recently she was Assistant Director of Communities and Social Policy at Greater London Authority implementing the Mayor’s strategies on Social Integration and Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion.

Liz Windsor-Welsh, Chief Executive, Action Together CIO. Action Together CIO is the infrastructure organisation for the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector in Oldham, Rochdale, and Tameside. They are supporting the work of LocalMotion in Oldham.

Regis Cochefert, Director of Grants and Programmes, Paul Hamlyn Foundation (PHF). PHF use their resources to support social change, working towards a just and equitable society. Regis has worked for PHF for over 15 years.

This event is for any funders, including independent grant makers, social investors and public sector funders. You don't need to be a member of the Forum to attend.
