This next session of the Social Justice Funders Group will look at how funders can empower communities to create long-term meaningful change through approaches which include grassroots activism and using the law as a tool for social justice. Our brilliant line-up of speakers can be found below:

  • Fozia Irfan - BBC Children in Need: Discussing social change and transformative philanthropy
  • Alex Mik - TLEF: Discussing the approach to funding community-led and movement lawyering including working with grantees of the Justice Together Initiative
  • Joanna Wootten - Trust for London: Supporting grassroots movements for change through the Disability Justice Fund which includes a panel of disability activists being involved in making decisions
  • Lizzie Mahoney - GLA: There will be an update on the development of a London Advice Strategy.

This event will be held in person at Debevoise and Plimpton (65 Gresham St, London EC2V 7NQ) and light refreshments will be provided. We recognise the importance of taking advantage of the face-to-face time together and have reserved the room from 9:30am-12:30pm, so please do feel free to hang around and chat before or after the session!

To reserve your place, or if you have any questions, please contact Emmeline Endresen at Access to Justice Foundation: Emmeline@atjf.org.uk
