Aims and activities

Overall aims:

  • To safeguard the globally important UK Overseas Territories (UKOTs) through the preservation and regeneration of their unique ecosystems and species and for the vital role they play in response to the nature and climate crises
  • To support the local communities and NGOs working tirelessly for current and future generations.

For funders:

  • Learn about the some of the UK’s most important but least well known and least protected natural wonders
  • Explore the systemic challenges and barriers that lead to environmental work in the UKOTs receiving significantly less support and attention than in the rest of the UK, drawing out the implications for other issues and places
  • Identify opportunities to fund impactful and well-evidenced projects.

How to get involved

Join us on a journey to explore the fascinating diversity of life and habitats present in the UK Overseas Territories, understand the threats they face and how individual and collective action could radically improve the system of support for the people and organisations working there.

We are hosting a learning series of four events (3 online, one in person) over the course of 2024. These will take place on:

  • 15 July 2024
  • 9 September 2024
  • 14 October 2024
  • 2 December 2024.
